How to Print a Meesho Label on a Thermal Printer (4×6)

To print a Meesho label on a 4×6 thermal printer, crop the A4 label PDF down to just the shipping label first, then print it at 100% scale (not "fit to page") with the paper size set to 4×6 in (100×150 mm). If you send the raw A4 PDF straight to the printer, the label shrinks into a corner of the page and the barcode comes out too small to scan.

Why you can't print the Meesho PDF directly

The label you download from the Meesho supplier panel is built for an A4 sheet. Each order takes up part of the page: the shipping label with the barcode and address near the top, the tax invoice below it, and a wide white margin around both.

A 4×6 thermal printer expects a page that is exactly 4×6 inches. Hand it an A4 file and it does one of two things, neither good. On "fit to page" it shrinks the whole A4 down to 4×6, so the actual label ends up a couple of inches wide and the barcode blurs into unreadable lines. On "actual size" it prints only the top-left 4×6 slice of the A4 and cuts off half the label.

So the label has to be cropped to 4×6 before it reaches the printer. That one step is the difference between a clean, scannable label and a wasted roll.

What you need

  • A direct-thermal 4×6 printer. Common models with Indian sellers are the TSC TE244 or TE344, the Xprinter XP-470B or XP-460B, and the Zebra ZD230. Most are 203 DPI, which is enough for a crisp shipping barcode.
  • 4×6 (100×150 mm) direct-thermal labels, on a roll or fanfold.
  • Your Meesho label PDF, downloaded from the supplier panel.
  • A way to crop the A4 label to 4×6: a PDF editor if you want to do it by hand, or a crop tool that does it automatically.

How to print a Meesho label on a thermal printer

Download your label from Meesho

In the Meesho Supplier Panel, open Orders, go to Ready to Ship, select the orders you are packing, and download the shipping label PDF. You can pull a single order or a whole batch into one file. Keep the PDF as it is; you crop it next.

Crop the A4 label to 4×6

This is the step that actually makes thermal printing work. By hand, you open the PDF in an editor, draw a crop box around the shipping label on each page, export it, then repeat for every order. That is fine for two or three labels and painful for fifty.

Set your thermal printer to 4×6

Most half-printed or blurry labels come from the print settings, not the file. Set these before you print:

  • Paper size: 4×6 in, or 100×150 mm. On Windows, set this as the printer's default stock size in Printing Preferences so it is correct every time.
  • Scale: 100%, or "actual size". Turn off "fit to page", because that setting is what shrinks the barcode.
  • Orientation: portrait.
  • Print darkness: medium to high. A setting that is too light is the usual reason a barcode looks fine but will not scan.

Print one, and check that the barcode scans

Print a single label first and scan the barcode with your handheld scanner or a phone scanner app. If it reads cleanly, print the rest of the batch. If it does not, work through the usual causes:

  • A blurry or grey barcode means the print is too light. Raise the darkness in the driver, or drop the print speed by one notch.
  • A cut-off label means the scale slipped back to "fit to page", or the stock size is not 4×6. Check both.
  • Long blank stretches between labels mean the printer needs a gap or black-mark calibration. Run the driver's calibrate routine once for your roll.

Keep the Meesho tax invoice on the label

Meesho provides a tax invoice with each order and expects it to travel with the shipment, so do not crop it away. The clean approach is a portrait 4×6 or 3×5 that stacks the shipping label on top and the invoice below, or a 4×4 square that fits both. One thermal label then carries everything the courier and the customer need, and you still skip the wasted A4 margins.
